Visitors seeking to explore the many historic castles and other treasures that dot the Northumberland countryside, will find that Alnmouth provides the perfect central location from which to be based. 

The newly opened Alnwick Garden is a 10 minute drive from Alnmouth and can be accessed via the spacious car parking area or through the impressive grounds of Alnwick Castle.  A short drive to the west takes you to the heart of the Cheviot Hills and opens up opportunities to visit several of the National Trust's most impressive locations.

The surrounding area offers a wealth of activities; Alnmouth provides a wide range of entertainment including sailing, golf from two excellent courses and of course the beautiful Alnmouth beach and estuary.

The Red Lion caters for golfers, cyclists and ramblers with secure garaging available for bicycles and hanging areas for wet weather clothing.
